The Freedom Area Educational Foundation held it's 2nd Bulldog Bowling Bash on October 18th, 2009 at Jimmy Magg's Baden Bowl.
Individual bowlers of all ages had a wonderful time bowling throughout the afternoon and helped to raise funds to support the efforts of the foundation.
**Kids received medals for thier efforts and all others received certificates for free games of bowling.

The Freedom Area Educational Foundation sponsored the 2nd Annual Hall of Fame Football Game on September 11th at the Freedom Area High School Stadium.
The new Hall of Fame Inductees - Class of 2009 - the 2nd group to be honored, were announced at the beginning of the game. This year's inductees are:

The Foundation also raffled off a football autographed by Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Tight-End Heath Miller at half time. Ken Teets won the football, and all proceeds go toward supporting the Foundation's mission to provide scholarships and teacher grants.

After the game, a reception for the Hall of Fame inductees was held at the Freedom Eagles.
A banquet will be held in February 2010 to formal induct the Class of 2009 into the Freedom Area Hall of Fame.

Members of the Foundation Board including President Tony Ellsworth, Treasurer Scott Levenson, and Directors Ellen Hill and Scott Challis presented the Freedom Area School Board with a check for $14,000.00 at their regular meeting.
This check represents the majority of the proceeds raised from the Inaugural 2008 Hall of Fame Weekend.
When added to a $10,000.00 grant received by the District from Highmark Blue Cross / Blue Shield, the initial planning and construction will be able to begin to make the Wellness Center a reality at the Freedom High School.

The Freedom Area Educational Foundation presented it's Inaugural Hall of Fame Weekend on Friday, September 12, and Saturday, Septermber 13, 2008.

The initial class of Hall of Fame inductees included:
Proceeds of the Inaugural Hall of Fame Weekend were designated to the development and construction of a new Wellness Center to be located in the Freedom Area High School.
The all-purpose Wellness Center will be utilized by Freedom Students, faculty, and eventually the community will contain selectorized strength equipment as well as cardiovascular equipment consisting of treadmills, elliptical and stepper machines, and stationary bikes.
